League Info 2026-2027
RIVERTON – We are excited to announce that City SC Utah will joining the Desert Academy League (DAL) as one of the founding members. The DAL is a competitive platform bringing together many of the top MLS NEXT clubs and leading academies. The league offers a high level competitive platform, and a professional game day environment, for U13-U19 boys from Arizona and Utah. We have enjoyed working with the group leading this league, through the MLS Next Academy program, and look forward to adding this exciting league to the City SC Utah second tier boys program. – Patrick Rennie, Technical Director

The league will feature clubs with proven histories of player development and competitive success, creating an environment designed to challenge players while strengthening pathways to higher levels of the game.
In addition, the Desert Academy League will officially align with the Texas Academy League (TAL), a platform featuring many of the top clubs throughout Texas. Together, DAL and TAL will partner with the National Academy League (NAL), creating a direct competitive pathway for players and clubs to advance toward the NAL National Championship.
This partnership structure will provide expanded opportunities for inter-league competition, increased exposure, and meaningful postseason opportunities for clubs across the Southwest and Texas regions.
Through its partnerships with TAL and NAL, the Desert Academy League is building more than a traditional regional league — it is establishing a connected developmental pathway focused on elite competition, player growth, and long-term success.
With several founding members currently participating in MLS NEXT environments and elite regional competition, DAL is positioned to quickly become one of the premier independent platforms in the Southwest.

- To help support our club and community, each family is asked to complete 6 hours of volunteer service throughout the season. Families who are unable to fulfill the volunteer requirement may choose the volunteer buyout option for $200 per family.
- Financial Assistance must do 12 hours volunteer time
- Payment plans add $10 processing fee per payment
- $20 late fees added for payment past due (grace period is 15 days)
